Former Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar has declared Benfica manager Jorge Jesus as superior to Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho.
Cesar who played for both managers during his career.
He said: “Jorge Jesus. Even if it was only at the end of my career. I really like his work, he is a different coach. But obviously not belittling others. Mourinho was the culmination of my career. By coincidence, two Portuguese.
“It was a very victorious with him (Mourinho) at Inter. He was hired to win the Champions League, it was an obsession of the president and he was very respected in the competition. But between Mourinho and Jesus, I keep three fingers up for Jesus.
“It is the way he makes the player understand the game. Tactically, he is absurd. He breathes that 24 hours a day. He has a phrase that marked me: ‘play the ball everyone plays, but understanding the game few understand’. When I arrived at Benfica, I learned a lot, things I would never have imagined learning at 34, finishing my career.”
