Mark Zuckerberg has revealed he is working on a Brain Click Project; meaning you will no longer need to tap on the physical keyboard in the nearest future before you share what is on your mind.
Outstanding! So, we are gradually going Cyborg, and will be getting what I have called Cyboard to share our thoughts with. What a way! Technology!
The Facebook founder and CEO said the Brain Click Project will enable users to share their thoughts directly the way they share text, photos and videos on Facebook.
Mark Zuckerberg made this revelation at the just concluded F8 developer conference that held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.
“A few minutes ago at F8, we shared a project we’re working on that will one day allow us to choose to share a thought, just like we do with photos and videos,” Zuckerberg revealed.
The Facebook founder further stated that “Our brains produce enough data to stream 4 HD movies every second”.
He said “The problem is that the best way we have to get information out into the world — speech — can only transmit about the same amount of data as a 1980s modem”.

“We’re working on a system that will let you type straight from your brain, about 5x faster than you can type on your phone today. Eventually, we want to turn it into a wearable technology that can be manufactured at scale,” enterprising Zuckerberg said.
“Even a simple yes/no “brain click” would help make things like augmented reality feel much more natural.
“Technology is going to have to get a lot more advanced before we can share a pure thought or feeling, but this is a first step,” he added.
Regina Dugan, who headed up both the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group, is leading the effort to realize the Brain Click Project.
Dugan, who now runs Facebook’s secretive research and hardware lab Building 8 said “We have a goal of creating a system capable of typing 100 words per minute, five times faster than you can type on your Smartphone, straight from your brain. It sounds impossible, but it’s closer than you may realize”.
“To be clear, we are not talking about decoding your random thoughts. We’re talking about decoding those words, the ones you already decided to share, by sending them to the speech center of your brain.
“We ask questions about technological progress and we always will.
“I feel optimistic about technological progress; I also feel responsible for doing the right things,” she added.
At the F8 developer conference, there were sessions on camera, virtual reality, messenger, media and publishers, and engineering and open source.
There was even more fun; and catchy technologies were unravelled at the F8 developer conference.
