In aftermath of Etisalat Nigeria rebranding, the management of 9mobile has today paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) most probably with the view to intimate the telecoms regulator of developments at the firm.
The delegation of 9mobile for the courtesy visit was led by the Chief Executive Officer of the telecoms firm, Mr. Boye Olusanya.
TheNewsGuru reports that after the change of name, this is the first official meeting between the regulator and the management of the Etisalat Nigeria alter ego.
After Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS) received a 3-week ultimatum from Abu Dhabi-based Etisalat Group to desist from continued use of Etisalat as brand name in Nigeria, the firm has within two weeks metamorphosed into 9mobile.
Today’s visit of 9mobile management to the NCC will result in official statements from the regulator on developments at the telecoms firm.
Ibrahim Dikko, Vice President, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs of 9mobile, among other top officials of the newly morphed firm are part of the delegation.
NCC officials present at the meeting are Mr. Sunday Dare, NCC Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management; Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, NCC Executive Vice Chairman; among others.
TheNewsGuru will bring you details of the meeting shortly.
