One year after the demise of Olorogun Michael Ibru, prominent sons and daughters of the Urhobo land are gathered today to immortalize the Nigerian business mogul from Agbara-Otor, Delta State, Nigeria.
TheNewsGuru reports that Olorogun Michael Ibru, who passed on, after a protracted battle with ill-health, at a medical facility in the United States of America, in the early hours of Tuesday, September 6, 2016, was buried December 14th at Agbara-Otor.
Among other events slated to mark his one year death anniversary, prominent Urhobo sons and daughters apart gathering today for the first annual memorial lecture of the foremost Nigerian businessman, will also gather tomorrow to unveil a statue of Olorogun, as he was fondly called, in Agbarha-Otor, Delta state.
While the memorial lecture is presently taking place at the MCIU Auditorium of the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), the unveiling of the Olorogun (Dr.) Michael C. O. Ibru, OFR statue will hold tomorrow at The Pillars, Ibru Village.
Among dignitaries attending the memorial lecture are Chief James Ibori, Mr. Goodie Ibru (Younger brother of Olorogun Michael Ibru), Prof. G. G. Darah, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, Prince George Ugen, Chief Abel Idigu, Prince Godwin Ejiyere, Okpare Ovie Theophilus Onojeghen, Barr Moses Odibo and Dr. Chris Oghenechovwen.
Others are Chief Love Ogbodu, Bernard Oghenero Okorodudu, Joel Ogheneochuko Omare, Bernard Okumagba, Francis Waive, Emmanuel Freeze, Dr. Amos Ighorodje, Barr Isaac Itebu, Paul Evuarherhe, Teddy Omusi Okumakube, Engr. Akpojotor Okiti, Moses Etu and a large host of other prominent Urhobos are representing the Urhobo Renaissance Movement, URM.
