Twitter Owner, Elon Musk, has revealed that he has hired a new Chief Executive Officer to replace him as the Twitter boss and its newly named X Corporation parent.
Elon Musk is making good on his promise to step down from the position following an online poll conducted on the platform months back in which majority asked him to step down.
Musk revealed this on his official Twitter handle on Thursday night, adding that the new CEO would resume in about six weeks.
“Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops,’ he tweeted.
It was gathered that some Twitter users exited the platform, following the subscription for verification badge introduced by Musk.
Musk said in December that he would honor the results of a poll asking whether or not he should bow out. He didn’t give a timeline, but did say he would leave as soon as he found someone “foolish enough to take the job.” He also said he would relegate himself to running software and server teams.
It’s not clear how much practical control Musk will have following the leadership shuffle. While he’ll no longer be CEO.
