In Nigeria, wedding occasion is not just an affair for grooms and brides alone, it is more about a whole lot of activities that join two families together. No wonder parents in this part of the world are generally being seen at fore fronts whenever their offspring are getting married.
“In this part of the world, in Africa I will say the wedding is actually for the parents because that shows they’ve succeeded in bringing up their child or children as the case may be, so a lot of times it’s more about the parents, they always want elaborate wedding, they always want their friends and family to be around. No matter what, if you tell your parents that you want a small wedding ceremony, you still see them, they go ahead to invite a lot of people because for them that’s success” says ace photographer Ayo Alasi when asked why parents are a ‘big-thing’ in Nigeria’s wedding scene.
Alasi in this interview with WeddingGurung narrates his journey into the photography field as well as discloses some of the success tips and challenges faced in the industry.
