Veteran Nollywood actor, Romanus Amuta popularly known for playing Natty in New Masquerade has died at 79.
The New Masquerade was one of the most popular soaps of the 1980s.
Chukwuma Amuta, the deceased son stated that the veteran died in a hospital on February 9 after a protracted illness.
“Yes! My father died this morning in Lagos after a protracted illness.”
Amuta was an indigene of ukana in Udi LGA of Enugu. He worked with Daily Times before venturing into the movie industry.
The actor came into the limelight after he featured in the movie ‘New Masquerade.’
Amuta also acted in some Nollywood movies including Lion Finger in 2003, Eagles Bride in 2005 and Ijele in 1999.
The actor is survived by his wife Cordelia and six children.
