A group under the platform of Diaspora Leadership Alliance has said Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi is most needed at this critical time to help pilot the affairs of Nigeria in 2023.
A frontline member of the group, Christopher Ogbonna in an interview said:
“At such a critical time when Nigeria is grappling with an atmosphere of mounting insecurity, poverty, unemployment, economical hardship, rising ethnic tensions amongst other challanges, the country needs a president who is detrabilized and with the strength of character and expertise to get the country back to winning ways.
He explained that the country must seek common ground on broad national issues on a bipartisan basis, not on the basis of personalities or geopolitical zones, tribes or factions.
He maintained that there’s need to quickly replace the politics of impressions and personalities with politics of issues and ideas as the common ground must be based on a dispassionate grasp of national problems rooted with years of extensive and verifiable experience.
“ Nigeria has never been in need of a detribalized, firm and effective leader. This is why upon examining the political landscape of the country, we have identified the current Minister of Transportation as one who is fit to take over the mantle of leadership after President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office.
” Amaechi stands out in many regards especially when you take a critical look at the numerous achievements he made when he held sway as Governor of Rivers State”.
Further enumerating some of the minister’s leadership qualities as the reason he is most fit to spearhead the affairs of the nation, Ogbonna lists some of Amaechi as “Detribalized, Effective, track record of proven success, extensive experience at all levels of government.
“The right Man for the Job, National Standing, Personal Leadership Style, Geopolitical Considerations and Political Prowess, Compassion for the Youth and the right Vision for a better Nigeria.
Further insisting that Amaechi contests for Presidency, the group stressed that he remains our preferred choice because he is the best person for the job based on his critically relevant qualifications.
He is our choice, his track record, his commitment, dedication to duty, his energy, his ability to get things done, his age, fitness and sound mind stands him in good stead.
The records are there, as a speaker, he was the Chair of Speakers, he was also the Chair of Governors during his reign as a Governor, as Minister, we can all see that he is by far the most performing minister. We have no doubt that as President the trend will continue, his antecedents are visible to even the blind and he remains the man most fit to lead our dear country”.
Ogbonna maintained that the group has analysed the performance of the present transport minister in various positions; as a two-term Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly; Governor for two terms; Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum; Minister for over six years, and they find Amaechi most suitable to lead the country.
Someone who has the capacity with inner love for the development of the country and capable of fostering national cohesion should be encouraged and supported to lead the country and they believe Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is the Man.
