Arsenal on Sunday evening at the Emirate defeated Brighton 2-0 to go top of the English Premier League log pending Liverpool’s matchday 17 fixture against Manchester united.
The Gunners dominated proceedings from start to finish and their efforts paid off in the 53rd minute.
Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke jumped to head a corner but missed and Gabriel Jesus was on ground to lash to the loose ball with a towering header to put Arsenal in the lead.
Kai Havertz made it two for the Gunners when he received a pass from Eddie Nketiah and wasted no time before slotting in home for Gunners’ second goal of the encounter.
Arsenal moved to the summit of the log and now await the outcome of the match between Liverpool and Manchester United.
