Ethiopian Sintayehu Legese has won the 2019 edition of the Lagos Marathon, while Kenya’s Joshua Kipkorir came second.
Legese who won the competition with a time of 2:17.26. has bagged $50,000 prize money.
The race, which took place on Saturday, kicked off in the early hours of the day from the National Stadium in Surulere and the finish line at Eko Atlantic City.
Meanwhile, Meseret Dinke won the female race which was entirely dominated by Ethiopians – Alemnesh Herepa and Kebena Chala came second and third respectively.
Both Legese and Dinke will go home with the winning prize of $50,000 each.
