A soldier, of the 82 Division of Nigerian Army, Enugu, Saeed Sabo is presently being detained in police custody for allegedly stabbing a 34-year-old man to death in Umuahia, Abia State.
Report say that the victim, Offor Uchenna got stabbed on his chest by the soldier attached to a Chinese construction firm in Umuahia, Abia state capital.
It was gathered that an altercation ensued between the duo around 10am on Saturday following the soldier’s inability to pay for goods he previously bought before buying a new one.
“The soldier slapped the man, who then grabbed the soldier by the uniform,” an eyewitness said, adding that the soldier stabbed Uchenna with his bayonet.
The police spokesman, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, said investigation had commenced.
