Nottingham and Super Eagles wing-back, Ola Aina, has assured teeming Nigerian fans that the team will be more focused when they play either Cape Verde or South Africa in the semi-final of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Aina made this comment during the post match conference after Nigeria’s slender win over the Palangras Negras of Angola.
Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone shortly after the game in Ivory Coast, the Nottingham Forest star also admitted that the Palancas Negras proved a tough nut to crack for Nigeria.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game; I think so far it has been one of the hardest we have played just because we have had a lot of games where physically the boys have put a lot in,” Aina said.
On the expectations for the semifinals, the former Chelsea player added: “We are happy and looking forward to the semifinal. Full focus on that game now and hopefully we can get the result we want again.”
