Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has said goalkeeper Carl Ikeme will be the team’s 24th player at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The three-time African champions have always had an extra player for the tournament.
And Ikeme, who is receiving treatment for Leukemia, will be added as the 24th player.
The goalie played in the second round of the African World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland and was in goal when Nigeria beat Zambia away in their opening game in the group stages.
Rohr told reporters that ”Until the last moment, there is a possibility of bringing in these players.
“Carl Ikeme will be our 24th player to the World Cup.”
