Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric has been voted 2018 UEFA Player of the Year over Mohamed Salah and former team mate Cristiano Ronaldo to claim the award on Thursday in Monaco.
The World Cup finalist dedicated the award to his father, who took him to his first ever training session as a kid.
Modric, a UEFA Champions League winner, a FIFA World Cup runner-up and recipient of the FIFA Golden Ball.
