Portugal star man, Cristiano Ronaldo has reached yet another landmark by scoring the 40th hat-trick of his Real Madrid career as they claimed the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ronaldo spared the European champions embarrassment against Japanese side Kashima Antlers, who took a 2-1 lead before the Portuguese fired in three goals to claim a 4-2 win after extra time.
Ronaldo has now scored three hat-tricks this season and six in the calendar year, with the J-League challengers the latest team to be put to the sword.
Lifting the Club World Cup for the second time in three years is an outstanding year for Ronaldo, who helped Real Madrid to another Champions League win and then led Portugal to glory in the European Championship.
Real Madrid are four points clear at the top of the La Liga table.
Ronaldo’s hat-tricks for the Real Madrid have come in La Liga, five in the Champions League, against Ajax, Galatasaray, Shakhtar Donetsk, Malmo and Wolfsburg.
