Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has issued out warnings to his players against having it in minds that they would revenge against Real Madrid in tonight’s UEFA Champions League encounter.

Recall that Madrid won last year’s semi-final 6-5 on aggregate, including that dramatic 3-1 comeback at the Bernabeu.

According to Guardiola, the quest to avenge the defeat could make the tie too emotional.

“It would be a huge mistake. We’re not here for revenge, just an opportunity.

“We can learn a little bit from what happened. You cannot become crazy. It’s a football game.

“I reviewed the games over the last two days and we couldn’t have played better in the home leg. Last season was the end of the world and we’re back. One day we will reach the final again and one day we will win it,” he said.

Real Madrid and Manchester City have reached two back to back semi-finals in the UCL.
