The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said the country is expecting a shipment of fresh fish, corn, sugar, maize, among other products at the Apapa and Tin-Can ports by August 28.
The ports authority made the disclosure in its daily “Shipping Position” made available to TheNewsGuru in Lagos today.
It says ten ships laden with various products, including petrol are at the Lagos ports waiting to berth.
According to the NPA two of the vessels are waiting to berth with petrol. It said another eight ships would berth with bulk fertiliser.
The authority said that 34 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected at Apapa and Tin-Can Island Ports between July 26 and Aug. 28.
“The expected ships are carrying buck wheat, containers, general cargoes, lubrication oil, base oil, bulk fertiliser, bulk corn, bulk sugar, fresh fish, crude palmolein, bulk maize, bulk salt and petrol.’’
It also said that 24 other ships were currently at the ports discharging general cargoes, ballast, seamless/steel, buck wheat, bulk fertiliser, bulk corn, bulk gas, petrol and container.
