Officials of Interact Sports and Real Madrid Campus Experience on Monday had a meeting with the Rivers State Government with the view to establishing an International Football Academy in the state.
TheNewsGuru reports the State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the State’s Commissioner of Sports, Mr. Boma Iyaye were present in the meeting.
The Rivers State Government, Interact Sports and Real Madrid Campus Experience will partner in setting up the football academy and the process for the establishment of it had commenced already.
The football academy would be affiliated to Real Madrid Football Club of Spain.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Sports Commissioner Iyaye said that a Memorandum of understanding would be signed and the location of the Academy would be determine soonest.
“This meeting is for us to work out modalities for the setting up of an academy that will be affiliated with Real Madrid Football Club.
“The academy will scout talents across the state and develop these talents,” he stated.
Vice President of Interact Sports, Mr. Kazma confirmed the group was in the state to establish the Football Academy.
Kazma assured that the academy will run in line with international standards to groom footballers who will be international mega-stars.
