Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday led a worship session during the funeral thanksgiving service of Oba Oladunni Oyewunmi, the 20th Soun of Ogbomoso.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the funeral thanksgiving service of Oba Oyewunmi held at the First Baptist Church, Oke’Lerin, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Oba Oyewunmi, 95-year-old, who joined his ancestors in December, reigned as Soun of Ogbomoso for 48 years. He was buried according to Islamic rites.
However, the Oyo State Government held a state burial for the late Soun of Ogbomoso, which culminated in the thanksgiving service.
Speaking during the thanksgiving service, Osinbajo described the late Oba as one who lived and conquered for his people. “He conquered illiteracy and underdevelopment. He loved his people, served his community and remains a source of inspiration,” the VP said.
